This isn't going to be much of an interesting post. As a general rule, most first chapters aren't.
Currently, I am sitting at my table, watching game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals (damn you Nashville Predators), and while scaring dear Mika with my sudden jumps and yelling at a team, that won't hear my cries of support through this computer screen, is fun and all, I thought that this would be a good time to take the first step in explaining my purpose for starting this blog. Every writer needs to write about something, even if it's about his ambitions, the weather, or his dog's droppings. The point is that in every piece of writing, there must be....well...a point.
I don't expect much, if any, response, but hey, everyone has to start somewhere, eh?
It has been an exceedingly long time since I've written a blog post of any sort, either on tumblr (God both bless and damn that site) or on this blog site. However, this being a new chapter of my life, I've decided that some form of change was in order, and thus the blog was born. Given that I've a Master's degree in Procrastination, I think I deserve a certain amount of applause.
"But what is this new chapter of your life?" you may ask. "When did it start? How did the previous one end?"
Well it's nothing as extraordinary as the loved one (which did occur, but is minimal in it's impact upon my new chapter), a terrible sickness, or a massive disaster. The truth is, I've simply finished the last cigarette in my pack. I know, you're probably sitting in your seat utterly confused right now, but bear with me, because I've found that confusion only wastes time. So sit back, relax, and allow me to narrate the end of the last chapter and the beginning of this.
So as you might have guessed, this chapter of my life, or my blog if you prefer, is about my journey to stop smoking. I do hope, however, that over time, by the Grace of God, this blog will evolve from an addict's journal, to something much more exciting.
